Ran some of these tests myself

Dunno about crashes, but MSIE 6.0.3790.0 on Win2003 stalls out every few to ten minutes with page-not-found and a URL showing of "1141082669http://%n%n%n%n%n%n" after reading mangle # 0x154d5bbb. And again "http:///é" (e with an acute) on 0x16b061fa. It also did kill the test machine once. My MSIE test rate is much slower than the other browsers 'coz it's running over RDP and hitting a remote (to it) site (my end 512/512kb DSL, other end 1500/256kb DSL).

Konqueror 3.2.3 stops every few seconds (typically every 5-10 tests) and spins with a dead JVM. Disabling Java for my test site results in runs of a few minutes at a time, typically punctuated by a crash. Similar results with FireFox (rv:1.7.3, Gecko/20041007) and Mozilla (rv:1.7.2, Gecko/20040804) all on Linux. Konq seems to run a lot more tests per minute than the other browsers, fast enough that the window often doesn't get updated.

At no stage did Linux (2.6.8.1) or X (Xorg 6.7.0) crash, although Konq did send some bad X packets.

When someone gets around to fixing the crap-gargling ability of the FOSS browsers, can I please, please urge them to not make the approach as three-wise-monkeys as MSIE's is?
