If you want up to the minute news releases with details go to UK news sites.

If you want really big headlines, and lots of details under those really big headlines then USA news sites.

The AP is usually pretty good, but hard to sift through.

You also have to factor in the huge pro-corporate bias that corporate media (especially in the US) have. C|Net and ZDNet, for example, look like they support the corporate viewpoint. Forbes is useless, it's so pro-corporate.

The UK sites (The Register and The Inquirer) have a bias, but its more along the lines of who they can poke the most fun at, who doesn't answer their questions, and who tries to BS them.
