Odd that knoppix still wins LiveCD of the year. I guess it is due to its repairing facilities...it definately isn't due to the desktop. Plus, journalists really dig it.

I'd have thought that PCLinuxOS would have taken this one. Afterall, it was the highest moving distribution on distrowatch last year. It went from 44th on distrowatch in 2003 to 9thi 2004. What a huge increase! It really is a pleasant distro that can show what Linux is capable of. Not to be outdone, MEPIS went from 22nd to 6th. MEPIS has autodetection that has outperformed Knoppix and it has java and flash preinstalled. Both of these distros are really great LiveCD's for really showing what Linux can do. Too bad popularity isn't based on performance...
