I have yet to grasp the nuance of the different commands used to find files via the cli. I also seem to be unable to remember just exactly what I specifically named the file. My friend at Tuxmachines.org (bless her patient heart) gave me the solution to this problem. srlinuxx sayz...$ or #slocate -i santana. The -i command tells the machine to stop being so anal about case sensitive issues and just give me files that have santana in them.

Seems to work for me...of course if Google would get around to porting desktop search to Linux, I could actually do what I intended to do with the file once I found it. Kat doesn't seem to work for me and beagle won't build without voodoo curses.
