Yeah, SVN ends the article positively. But let's get a grip here- when a company is intransigent (Exhibit A: Sony), we crab about it. When a company actually listens to community and customer feedback, and changes policy (Novell) we crab about it.

What a bunch of impossible-to-please crabs!

tuxchick - I think you are onto something. Look at the recent article by Tom and see that perceptions not reality was the key to NT's success in beating out Novell. Ideally we say we are interested in honesty, however, both the public and the supposed business thinkers follow the flow: either they buy in or they do not. Nonetheless, reality is more complex. Consider a company's spokesperson being honest the mob mentality would consign that individual the label of loser and the company to the scrape heap post haste. But business success is a twisted path that is obvious usually only in hind sight.
