Not so much OO, as Word Processors, is the problem

People always assume that what you should write a book in is a word processor, but it is not a sensible tool for the job. You need to use an outliner if the book is in flux and the ideas are moving around, to be able to reorganise the sections easily. Some people work like this, others don't.

Text editors, with nothing to get in the way, just to get words down on paper, and put them into Lyx or TeXmacs later for structuring - that's quite sensible too.

Then you do better with something with minimal control over formatting but maximum control over logical structure, if you are at the real final draft stage. Something like Lyx or TeXmacs.

What you should use WP for, is notes, letters, memos, or if you are an HR Department, or a Government Office, all those forms you have to send out to everyone....
