IBM Workplace, SOA hinges on the Eclipse OSS Rich Client Platform.

For example, Borland, Adobe and the like, are investing R&D dollars heavily in Eclipse based technology.

What is most significant is how Workplace is Eclipse Client Platform, SWT and plug-in component design based, which is truly revolutionary.

We are only beginning to see a new generation of applications leveraging off of Eclipse starting to appear and it will be, well, BIG.
