I suspect that's true for me as well. As long as I write, I seem to hold a fairly decent audience. If I open my mouth and speak, people suddenly have other things to do - even when I brush my teeth. Go figure.

It wasn't the voice, but the delivery that lost me. That was a terrible reading... almost painful.

Well, most people are at least kind enough to sit through the sermons. Maybe it's more when I'm in a one-on-one???

LOL. One of the great hymns speaks of "such a worm as I". Maybe I should try that on my next sermon intro, especially my next sermon as a guest in someone else's church.

I think I talk slow - even for a Southerner. I tried recording a news summary a while back, and let's just say I would stink as a DJ. However, I could probably handle rattling off one of my editorials. Hmmm...
