A number of recent articles, especially the reports on the Evans Data and IDC surveys on developer interest in and use of Open Source in general, and Eclipse in particular, AND "The New Barbarians" by (of all people) Daniel Lyons, on Forbes, ALONG WITH my offering live-CD copies of Ubuntu and Kubuntu to co-workers, seem to have opened heretofore closed doors. My recent FAILED attempt to install that same Ubuntu on my spare Dell Precision Workstation 370 with a RAID 1 config hasn't hurt either (I've since ordered both the Ubuntu and Fedora 5 -DVD's- which I will try next). You see, I now feel 'free' to begin toying with Linux since I'm assigned to follow-up on the CA state Open Source Working Group ... mostly, I intend to LISTEN and -stay out of their WAY- :-)

If you haven't seen it, though, CHECK OUT that Forbes article... and you might want to share it around, too!
