I can't help but think of all the attempts to intercept studies that reveal the truth, e.g.: Leaked letter warns of open source 'threat to eco-system' [HYPERLINK@www.techworld.com] Study: open source needs official support; Lobbyist disagrees with "flawed" conclusions [HYPERLINK@arstechnica.com] IDC pronounces Linux unimportant to European economy [HYPERLINK@www.theinquirer.net] US politicians go to bat for Microsoft [HYPERLINK@www.theregister.co.uk] US ambassador to the EU was former Microsoft lobbyist [HYPERLINK@www.theinquirer.net] EU official joins consultancy serving Microsoft [HYPERLINK@tinyurl.com] |

There's much more stuff like that. I wrote more stories on the subject. Like: How Microsoft distorted the facts in the Vienna conclusions [HYPERLINK@lxer.com] Conflict of interests of political party president in softwarepatents issue in the EU [HYPERLINK@lxer.com] And more references: 'Bill Gates blackmailed Danish parliament' [HYPERLINK@www.zeropaid.com] Then, there's an amusing story about how European MEP's could collect 'their free softice', paid by the pro-patent lobby (link gone). And, McGreevy, who has gotten Microsoft as a sponsor when Ireland had the chairmanship of Europe, is now the Eurocommissioner who's handling the software-patent fuzz. |
