What with Microsoft being so open & eager to bleed one of their largest cash-cows & all, the result will be an application which technically fills the bill — as in, loads/saves the most basic of files — but in practical terms is utterly useless.

Not only that, it'll be spitting out files that are almost compatible with ODF, & how much trouble will that cause? We’ll get complaints about “unrelaible” ODF format, when the holes’re being dug by MS-Office.

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS... Makes perfect sense to me.
