In the tutorial she formats the luks device with aes-cbc which is sensitive to watermark attacks. Instead she should have recommended the new lrw block cipher found in Linux 2.6.20 and newer.

Just replace aes-cbc-plain with aes-lrw-benbi. The only drawback is that you cannot use keys smaller than 256 bits.
