Where's the "Posting Markup Howto" page?

Yet again, I hit Preview, it looked good, hit Send, and my post was mangled.

Where's the Howto? Not the author howto, the forum editing howto.

What markup tags are supported/accepted/auto-mangled?

Why do I have to ask here instead of hitting a prominently displayed link to something so obviously useful?

Thx. :-P

You ask a great question, as far as I know most html tags work.

Could you tell me exactly what tags you were trying to use?

I am sorry that you post got mangled, if I can help in keeping it from happening again to you I am glad too.

Here is the thread from a while ago that I found discussing the html tags.

$DEITY knows what's going to happen here ("forum quote tags" with embedded HTML URL tag)
Quoting:. Ah ha! URL stripped.

The lights are coming on. :-) Now I see it's a mixed bag of HTML and
Quoting:forum markup
tags, with some (which?) of the former disabled, and the latter left up to the imagination? :-)

I was trying to say "< F1 >" (strip the spaces), which resulted in a noop. Then I tried "& l t ; F1 & g t ;", which I think resulted in "F1".

I'm pretty new to web forums. I've been hiding out in Usenet all these years. Thanks for the hints and the link.
