Let me see if I understand this, pat: You say Ken's support process is lacking because he shows people how to do things, and then allows them to do what he's taught them on their own.

I'm not sure that's a flaw.

It appears to me that Ken's approach mirrors the old adage: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

Or is there something I missed?
