Internet Explorer 8 competition

Has everyone here heard of the new competition from Microsoft?
http://www.microsoft.com/australia/ie8/competition/default.a... Many people have been mocking this with comments like "so bad they have to pay people to use it". What do people think of Internet Explorer 8 and web standards? I ran into this site (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/get-the-f...) and just about choked. As someone who occasionally has to do some web development I'm always having troubles getting things to look just right with ie. Comments? |

It will be interesting to see their side of the story if they respond. You have to admit that they are probably right about the "Compatibility" argument. Although that is only because so many sites on the net are written to conform to IE-Only "standards" and use such things as ActiveX, thereby breaking compatibility with other browsers. |
