I think it's time to build a custom kernel for my HP netbook and see if this really makes a difference. The one way the HP is lacking when compared to the Sylvania it replaced is battery life. It would be nice if this change extends the length of time I get on a charge. |

One tip of something which I just discovered (though most people may already know): When looking for an option, browsing through the 1000+ things you can configure in the kernel can be daunting. While in 'menuconfig', you can 'search' for an option by using the slash / character, like in "less" & co. I have been configuring kernels for some years now, and I was delighted to find this - not well documented - capability! |
