hey all,

I am speaking at Linuxcon 2011 in gorgeous Vancouver, BC, aug 17-19. I need photos of Linux users from all walks of life: kids, old people, people of color, coders, casual users, artists, documenters, community managers, any and all Linux users! I am going to make slides with 6-8 photos per slide, no captions. My talk is "Who is the face of Linux?" Please send me your photos at carla@tuxcomputing.com, or give me a link where I can snag them off a Web site.

thanks!

You can have mine from the LXer website, if that's not big enough I'll send you another, and one of my partner, I'll also ask some of my clients if they are willing to contribute photos.

@tc, "your photos wanted!" reminds me much too keenly that marketing companies and ID thieves REALLY REALLY want as much of our and our families'+friends' identifying info as possible for their purposes.

More like "your IDs wanted!"......and passed along to goodness-know-who during that innocent Summer conference in Vancouver.

We PASS on your offer!

I hardly think a photo collage shown for a minute or two each at a Linux Convention is going to invade anyone's privacy...

I'm just sayin'.

Not sure I have any pictures worth having, but I'll mail you one if I can find it.

Good project. Hope you post the slides or YouTube (as long as it's not a Power Point presentation) when you're done.

Funny story I heard about Sun Microsystems back in the mid-to-late 90s.

They were using truly horrendous quantities of disk space at Sun, when disk space was expensive, and they couldn't figure out why. So they did an audit.

...power point presentations.

@tc --

My pictures are all over the internet, but do to a clerical error they keep being mislabeled as "George Clooney".

Don't know who this Clooney guy is, but I hope he appreciates all the good will from being associated with my gorgeous mug.

Although unlikely to be confused with Ron Paul.

Ron Paul as in
Quoting:A letter signed by Reps. Zoe Lofgren and Anna Eshoo, both California Democrats, and Rep. Ron Paul, the Republican presidential candidate from Texas, predicts that SOPA will invite "an explosion of innovation-killing lawsuits and litigation." Law professors have also raised concerns. Agust Gus ...,

I was going to post that this thread might disturb Linus*, but I assumed it would shoot over too many heads.

You are a brother, I now presume separated by cruel fate at birth or before or after - depending on the script of the drama. And dino is one of us[! | ?]

* Throwing in a nod to the Pauling Point as vitamin C as his firm belief it was the answer to so many problems was too obvious.

Few people know that Pauling's lifelong fixation was the direct result of his love for Jimmy Cagney movies.

Nah, this ain't no gun, you dirty copper. It's a vitamin. See?
