COM32R image

Can anyone tell me what that is, and offer any explanation as to why a USB thumb drive would suddenly not be COM32R image after one has updated the version of Linux on the device.

Try typing help or live at the prompt (if one is offered). Seem to recall a bug in Startup Disk Creator or syslinux caused that...

Unfortunately all I get is a message stating "vesamenu.c32: not a COM32R image" then the Boot: prompt, which then cycles.

There's an error in one of the syslinux config files. It affected one of the Mint boot drives I tried to create a few months ago. Here's a thread on the problem:
