Tip of the iceberg

|The issue Linus ran into (and resolved) is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to EFI/UEFI. Microsoft has mad clear that they intend to use UEFI to block installation of any other OS on ARM based devices. On Intel architecture it's a vendor option to allow or not allow it and you can bet your bottom dollar that Microsoft will pressure vendors to not allow it.
Oh, and yeah, making it work can break compatibility with other non-EFI hardware as Linus discovered. I don't call this progress.
