For those developers who didn't join LibreOffice for whatever reason, could still contributed and LibreOffice developers to learn from and use to enhance LO.

Because of the licenses, the code can only move one way, so any innovation in OpenOffice is immediately available to Libre Office, while innovations in LibreOffice are not available to Openoffice.

The developers of OpenOffice have to reinvent the wheel, to implement LibreOffice innovations, while LibreOffice devs can mine OpenOffice code for anything they find useful.

ta, that doesn't guarantee that LibreOffice developers will incorporate every new feature of OO into LO. The projects are diverging and I expect that will continue.

Competition is a good thing. Let the best office suite win.
