KDE doesn't do it for me, though things in its favor include deeper OwnCloud integration (the OwnCloud devs are mostly KDE devs), a whole bunch of excellent applications, and no requirement for 3D acceleration.

I'm a big fan of Kate, Kdenlive, K3b and digiKam.

I have been running Chakra sine Feb and am really enjoying KDE and the half rolling model. Unfortunately I cannot install it on my desktop system since I have an LVM on it, and the installer doesn't support LVMs yet.
