as far as Canonical just wants to maintain revenue streams, let it be. They are also yelling out Linux relevance to the ordinary user ...

The real questions : can Canonical reach a point where they can indulge in power abuse ? If they can, would they ? If they do, would it be efficient ? Is the fragmented nature of Linux/OSS community a sort of vaccine against power abuse ?

Let's just hope that this fragmentation is more difficult to overcome than the separation of powers in the US Constitution.
