Who doesn't want to know Linus Torvalds' every thought on GNOME 3 ... this week: http://plus.google.com/115250422803614415116/posts/KygiWsQc4... |

Linus may find some pleasantness in Gnome 3, but trying to read anything on Phoronix is pain itself, with all the ad popups. |

Quoting:Phoronix is pain itself, with all the ad popups. Are we to assume Phoronix found a way to beat AdBlock? Or simply Tuxchick haven't had her coffee yet? :-) |

How about "Phoronix is a pain itself, what with the obnoxious owner." |

They must have a new server side script cuz my noscript can't stop the new pop-up and I can't close it. Fine. They don't want me reading their website? No problem. Done. Never much liked it, anyway. |

I am using Chrome 25.0.1364.97 with AdBlock 2.5.61 extension and I don't see any pop-ups. I will try disabling AdBlock to see if the pop-up show up. |

yup, AdBlock is preventing every ad. Ironically, they were chrome and Ubuntu ads. ha ha. |

It sounds like it may take a combination of NoScript and AdBlock to completely tame Phoronix. I doubt it's worth the effort, given the way they spread their articles over several pages. |

I've not been seeing these pop-ups, even though I've whitelisted the site in Ghostery, am allowing JavaScript, etc. (Firefox 19, and I don't run Adblock -- just Ghostery and Flashblock)) |
