is that they charge for the "stable" edition. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with someone who wants to charge for their distro. Some do. And they say so, up front. eLive does not state, up front, that you must "donate" a fixed fee to the developer in order to install it. That fact is not discoverable until you have downloaded the stable edition iso and attempt to install it.

That fact should be stated, clearly, up front, on the website. It isn't. That's what I have a problem with. If you want a fast, stable and up-to-date version of e17, use Bodhi. Jeff and his team do an excellent job of keeping it updated and squashing any bugs.
