Could it be that Microsoft puts Linux at a disadvantage?

Perhaps we should be grateful that Microsoft maintains a Linux version of Skype at all. I expected that when MS bought Skype that would disappear. |

It's about time we find an opensource alternative to skype that's as easy to use as skype, as I have no intention of continuing to use a MS service, especially since it's now proven that MS intercepts (and quite likely records) all traffic routinely. See: http://h-online.com/-1862870 |

I stopped using MS Skype when I noticed encrypted packets going to a microsoft.com IP address. That may have been legitimate, but I have no way to verify, so the package got erased. |

It is pretty good where there is WiFi and not too bad where there isn't. We have a data plan and we don't use it that much. |

But then, since I think Microsoft was pressured to buy Skype and make it subject to "Lawful Intercept" by the "intelligence" organization(s) of the Empire of the United States, that would be one reason for them to maintain the Linux version. To maintain the biggest net possible. |
