There used to be a tool called FireGPG, and extension for Firefox, that added GnuPG "encrypt/decrypt" to Gmail, which worked as easily and as well as Enigmail and Kmail.

The problem was, the author quit even trying to keep up with the constant changes to Gmail. It was simply too hard to have to decypher and update every time that Google changed Gmail, which it seems is pretty often.

I'm glad to report that Trinity-DE's Kmail continues to seamlessly integrate with GnuPG.
