This board looks really good. It's a bit more expensive, but it seems like the CPLD is user re-programmable... which would be truly awesome to play with.

I've been looking to replace my COTS home weather station with a home-built system. I was working on it using the Raspberry Pi, but maybe this would be better and easier with access to the CPLD.

It's too bad the CPLD is not Xilinx, as I'm very familiar with their 'web-pack' tool kit.

COTS: Commercial off the shelf. CPLD: Complex Programmable Logic Device.

I have a few embedded projects on my list that also really need more cpu/memory horsepower than what one can get with an RPi3. I've been playing with the Odroid-C2 quad-core Arm board for a couple weeks and have been pretty happy with it. However it looks like this quad-core Atom board might offer even more performance.

Hmm, oh well, it's completely off topic, but the title irresistibly brings it to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KPplYp7K7M

I'm older than that. :)
