US vs. Europe

I found it was particularly interesting that in the "where do you live" poll, 60% of the responders said Europe and only 25% said US/Canada. I've noticed a trend of more and more open source interest happening in non-US countries, and it's interesting (and alarming for those of us in this country!). I know there are several factors for this, but I have to wonder if Microsoft being a US-company has something to do with it. Additionally, there is a culture of proprietary software in this country that seems quite pervasive. |
