Canonical announced the release of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, featuring the new ‘snap’ package format and LXD pure-container hypervisor. An Ubuntu Long Term Support (LTS) release is supported and maintained by Canonical for five years, making it the most stable, reliable, secure and cost-effective Linux platform for long-term, large-scale deployments. This is the 6th such LTS release for Ubuntu, and marks the first time that the platform is supported on mainframes, the world’s largest and most powerful Linux systems.

NixOS community is proud to announce the third NixOS stable release 'Emu' 16.03. This is a low profile release, but it contains many small improvements. We had 10,567 commits from 448 contributors in this release spanning over six months. The release brings many improvements including Nix 1.12.2, systemd 229, kernel 4.4 and many packages updates.

Sabayon 16.04 is a modern and easy to use Linux distribution based on Gentoo, following an extreme, yet reliable, rolling release model. ClearOS 7.2.0 Final for all editions has arrived! ClearOS 7 is available in three editions: Community, Home, and Business. All editions can be installed from the same ISO, but each edition provides access to different repos with a mix of apps, support, and services to meet different environment needs. This release is the second in the ClearOS 7 series and provides primarily maintenance and bug fixes.

We are happy to announce the release of Chakra's first 2016 ISO, codenamed "Ian", in memory of the late Ian Murdock, founder of Debian.

This ISO doesn't introduce any major changes, but offers an updated snapshot of our stable repositories to new users. It can be considered a maintenance release, providing all the bug fixes and package updates that occurred in the last 3 months, ever since the previous ISO was released.

Nearly ten years ago the ReactOS Project released version 0.3.0. Today we are proud to announce the formal release of version 0.4.0. A great deal of work has gone into making this release happen and as we look back it is remarkable to consider how far the project has come since that release a decade ago. This release is both a celebration of and a testament to everything that the ReactOS team and community has achieved together. Thank you to all of you for having stood by the project for this long and we hope rewarding journey. The Android-x86.org is glad to release the 4.4-r5 to the public. The Android-x86 4.4-r5 is a bugfix of the 4.4-r4 release. It addresses more hazi fonts issue of Mesa 10.5.9 found on Intel Gen5 GPUs. You are encouraged to upgrade to this release if you still encountered the hazi fonts issue.

The Korora project has released version 23 (code name "Coral") which is now available for download. Existing 23 beta users do not need to re-install, just keep installing regular updates. For the last three months we have been waiting for the RPMFusion repositories to be declared stable before releasing Korora 23. These community packages provide support for things that Fedora doesn't normally ship, like multi-media codecs and proprietary kernel drivers. Normally, the stable RPMFusion repositories are available a few weeks after a Fedora release, however the community has moved to new infrastructure and this has caused some delays.

More than 12 months in the making, Makulu 10 Xfce does not disappoint. The focus on this build was stability, speed, social integration, key features that really make it unique and noticeable. Some core elements and standardized traditional elements were kept in this edition, however some new features were also introduced. The new social integration is unmatched in the Linux world, nowhere else can you simply so easily access your preferred social platform in such manner of comfortability.

We're excited to finally announce the release of Zorin OS 11 with the availability of the Zorin OS 11 Core and Ultimate editions. Linux Lite 2.8 Final is now available for download. The star of this release is the inclusion of the hardware enablement stack 3.19 based kernel offering greater hardware support. We've also included a host of new features including, Btrfs support during install, the help manual is now accessible from the desktop, Hulu now works out of the box, and the usual compliment of community suggestions and bug fixes.

deepin 15.1 is a correction emphasizing bug fixing from users' feedback, optimizing the system and expanding the application repository. It is worth mentioning that a new member has joined the deepin application family - deepin Cloud Print. Based on questions and advice users submitted through deepin feedback, we fixed and optimized system modules: optimized Dock display interface when mounting mobile device; fixed an issue with the Dock whose hidden status may be incorrect; fixed an issue with the Dock where the system tray cannot be displayed.

We are proud to announce Neptune 4.5 the 5th service release to the Neptune 4.x series. This version comes with some core updates to the system including LTS Kernel 3.18.25, Systemd 227, libc6 2.19, Mesa 10.5.9, Alsa 1.0.27 and more. For the first time we also offer a testing version of our Plasma 5 version based on Plasma 5.5.3 as seperate ISO download. The usual software Updates like Chromium updated to version 46 and Icedove to 38.5 are also included. We replaced TrueCrypt with VeraCrypt which is compatible with TrueCrypt Containers.

ExTiX LXQt is based on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf. LXQt 0.10.0 (not in Ubuntu’s repositories) is used as the desktop environment. All packages have been updated to the latest version by 16-01-20. Kernel 4.4.0-0-exton is used (kernel.org's kernel 4.4). Ubuntu 15.10 uses kernel 4.2. Google Chrome is used as web browser, which makes it possible to watch Netflix movies.

As always with this rolling distribution you will find the very latest packages for the Plasma Desktop, this includes Frameworks 5.18.0, Plasma 5.5.3 and KDE Applications 15.12.1. Plasma 5.5 has brought new features in the Widget Explorer, expanded options in the Applications Launchers, new widgets including Color Picker & Disk Quota, restored support for legacy system tray icons, default font has moved to Noto and Desktop Tweaks for different handling of widgets plus option to disable the desktop toolbox.

The Solus Project is proud to announce the release of the first version of its operating system, Solus, on 27th of December, 2015. Solus 1.0 is codenamed Shannon after the longest river in Ireland.

Solus 1.0 is the result of over eight months of work, coalesced from over a dozen contributors, over 2000 package builds, a rewrite of the premier desktop environment Budgie, and more.

New features in Chapeau 23: We have a new Hardware Helper Tool (hht). Inspect your hardware and manage your NVIDIA drivers with ease, even with NVIDIA Optimus!. The Korora repository has been removed. The default display server remains to be X in Chapeau 23, unlike Fedora 23 Workstation Wayland is disabled by default. More wallpapers! Gnome 3.18 now has Google Drive integration. Other noteworthy changes inherited from Fedora 23 are: Python 3 is now the default implementation.
