Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6.6 Released

Today we have released Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6.6. Black Lab enterprise Linux 6.6 is a bug fix and application update for the Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6.x line. With this release we added full Docker integration and it also includes the Black Lab SDK 2.0. Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6.6 being based on LTS Technologies will continue to get security updates until 2021.

Black Lab Enterprise Desktop 6.5 RC1 RELEASED

Today we are releasing Black Lab Enterprise Desktop 6.5 RC1. This is the first Release Candidate of what will become the final product of Black Lab Enterprise Desktop 6.5. We are now in feature freeze meaning there will be no more changes to the application lineup and we will be working on polish. We have introduced quite a few new features. Enterprise Filesystem support, Built in virtualization utilities, and webapp integration.

Black Lab Linux MATE 6.1 released

Today we are pleased to announce the release of Black Lab Linux MATE 6.1. Black Lab Linux MATE 6.1 is a distribution of Black Lab Linux that utilizes the Mate Desktop environment.

Black Lab Professional Desktop 6.0 SR3 released

Today we are pleased to announce the release of Black Lab Professional Desktop 6.0 Service Release 3 or SR3. Black Lab Pro Desktop 6.0 SR3 is a major upgrade to our pro desktop line of distributions. With this release we worked on a few issues with memory consumption, security and speed. With the Black Lab Pro Desktop we deliver it in two different desktops, KDE and GNOME Shell . While these are commercial releases we do offer a cut down version of it available for download from our website. While we do not release for download all of the features of the retail release it is far from being crippled. The KDE release boots only consuming 480 mb of RAM and the GNOME Shell release boots using only 545 mb of RAM

Black Lab Linux KDE 6.0 SR1 Released

Today we are announcing that back by popular demand is the KDE release of Black Lab Linux. We have a long history with KDE and it has always been one of our more popular releases and the KDE desktop is the most requested desktops for our custom build service. With this release we are bringing it to the general public. With this release we made many changes to the KDE desktop to make it more friendly to novices as well as power users alike. The KDE release like all of our releases of Black Lab Linux is based on the LTS version of Ubuntu and so you can be rest assured of continued support by us and by Canonical

Black Lab Linux 6.0 SR1 Released

Today we are pleased to announce the release of Black Lab Linux 6.0 SR1, which is Service Release 1. The purpose of our service releases is to focus on security and application updates rather than new features. Service Releases are provided every two to three months in between our 6 month release schedule. Black Lab Linux 6.0 is based on LTS technologies so users can be rest assured that you will receive feature and functionality updates until 2017 and security updates until 2020.

Black Lab Professional Desktop 6.0 Service Release 2 Available Now

Today we are announcing the immediate availability of Black Lab Professional Desktop 6.0 SR2. SR2 (Service Release 2) is a collection of all security updates for October and November 2014.

Black Lab Linux 6 Beta 1 RELEASED

Today we are pleased to release the Beta 1 release of Black Lab Linux 6. This release has been in planning over the last several months and while we have been slaving away over it we have introduced some unique features.

With this release we changed the core system we have also changed our default desktop environment . Many of the core packages have remained the same and have been updated to newer versions.

Black Lab Linux 5.1 Released

Today we are pleased to release the next in the 5 series of Black Lab Linux. Black Lab Linux 5.1 contains many updates, new features and enhancements to the Black Lab Linux distribution.

Since this is an incremental release we are also making it available for download immediately instead of waiting the 30 day period in where we normally deliver it.

Black Lab SDK 1.8 released

Today we have released the new Black Lab SDK 1.8. With this release we added a lot of new tools for developing applications for Black Lab Linux and Ubuntu. The Black Lab SDK 1.8 has been tested and is supported on the following distributions: Black Lab Linux 5.x/6.x, Ubuntu 14.04, Kubuntu 14.04

Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6 Preview now available

We have released the Preview of Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6. The release of Black Lab Enterprise Linux 6 signals our 8 years of operation in the enterprise and education sectors. There were three things that we focused on with this release.

A) Compatibility. We have worked to be as compatible with other Linux distributions as well as Microsoft Windows. B) Security. Security and data security is paramount. We have built in DoD specification wipe, stronger folder and file encryption as well as setting system access times. C) Management. We have built in utilities to help users manage VM's, to help them manage Windows systems and to ease the management of their Black Lab Enterprise Linux environments
