Copy Plain Text is a very useful add-on for Mozilla products, especially for Firefox, when you deal with lots of text copying from web pages on a daily basis.

The old Copy Plain Text, created by Jeremy Gillick, died at version 0.3.3 and it dosen't work anymore with current versions of Firefox or Thunderbird.

Even if users tried to resuscitate it (some weird 0.3.4 EVE and 0.3.5 versions could be found here and there on the web) it was still dead, until developer Leszek Życzkowski created the brand-new Copy Plain Text 2 extension.

Copy Plain Text 2 allows you to copy selected text without any HTML formatting like bold, italic, font size, etc. All you have to do is to select the desired text, right click and select "Copy as plain text" from context menu choose.

The Copy Plain Text 2 is customizable, and can be set as default COPY action, which doesn't require application restart. It features the same functions as its predecessor such as trim space around text, remove extra spaces, and remove extra empty lines. It is also designed for AutoCopy2.

Copy Plain Text 2 1.0 supports Mozilla Firefox web browsers from version 4.0 to 11.0 Alpha 1, Mozilla Thunderbird mail client from version 3.0 to 11.0 Alpha 1, and Mozilla SeaMonkey all-in-one Internet application suite from version 2.0 to 2.8 Alpha 1.

Here's what users say about this new add-on: "This add-on works flawlessly not only in browsers (FX, Aurora, nightly) but also in Thunderbird (Earlybird, etc.). That's great, because other add-ons have a lot of problems with that."
