KDE 4.9 Goes Into Beta

The first beta release of KDE SC 4.9 is now available.

The key features as said by the KDE developers are:

- More deeply integrated Activities
- Improvements in Plasma and KWin thanks to QtQuick components
- Performance and stability improvements all over the place

Much greater information on this first beta release of KDE 4.9 is available from the press release. KDE SC 4.9 will be officially released in August.
