Intel Loses One Of Their Linux Driver Developers
Several Phoronix readers have written in that Eugeni Dodonov, a former Mandriva developer who since last year has been working for the Intel Open-Source Technology Center on their Linux graphics driver, lost his life this weekend.
The news from various sources in Brazil (saocarlosagora.com.br and here) indicate that Dodonov was killed while bicycling. It's mixed whether he was hit by a vehicle while bicycling or had fallen.
Eugeni Dodonov was born in Russia but had been studying and working in Brazil the past few years, including while contributing to the open-source Intel Linux graphics driver.
Most recently Dodonov was working on the Intel Haswell graphics driver.
Prior to becoming a software engineer at Intel in August of 2011, he worked at Mandriva as a development manager / engineering team leader / system engineer for several years, and back in 2007 he served briefly as a software development engineer at Microsoft.
