A few minutes ago, November 1, the Fedora development team proudly announced the immediate availability for download of the first Alpha version of the upcoming Fedora 18 operating system for the ARM architecture.

After announcing openSUSE 12.2 ARM RC2, we’re once again proud to inform all ARM fans, as well as Fedora fans (of course), that they can now test the first Alpha release of Fedora 18 ARM.

“We invite you to download the Fedora 18 Alpha release and provide your valuable input to the Fedora ARM team.”

“Please join us on the IRC in #fedora-arm on Freenode or send feedback and comments to the ARM mailing list,” was stated in the announcement.

This version comes with prebuilt images for the Pandaboard, Highbank and Trimslice hardware platforms, as well a Versatile Express image that can be used with QEMU.

Download Fedora 18 ARM Alpha right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an alpha release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
