OPERATING SYSTEMS
Earlier this month I wrote about SprezzOS, a new Linux distribution where its developers boasted it's the most robust, beautiful, and performant Linux. Well, SprezzOS is now out in the while. The developers are now boasting they can install a Linux server in 120 seconds with their operating system.

Nick Black of Sprezzatech has written in to Phoronix about a "server in 120 seconds" and their 1.0.2 release of SprezzOS. "Our 1.0.0 emerged 2013-01-13, but wasn't really anything I wanted to publicize. Our current 1.0.2 still has one known critical bug but the installer, at least, is running through more or less smoothly. I cut the video "Server in 120 Seconds", demonstrating an expert-mode virtual machine install completed in less than two minutes."

It's not particularly exciting, but the video has been embedded below.

Nick additionally added, "once I get this systemd/initramfs-related breakage resolved, I intend to publicize the resulting 1.1.0 heavily... wanted to make you aware of the video -- you can see there our (ZFS-capable!) "Growlight" technology for disk management/preparation, which I personally believe to be the finest solution for these tasks to be found in any Linux installer."

The release notes for SprezzOS 1 can be found here.
