phpMyAdmin, the popular browser-based software for MySQL database administration, has hit a significant milestone with the release of phpMyAdmin 4.0.0.

This widely-used web-based database administration software has finally done away with its HTML tables in favor of a JavaScript-driven tree-based layout. More of phpMyAdmin 4.0 is written in object oriented programming, some of the table browsing code has been rewritten, and an assortment of many smaller features.
