Clement Lefebvre, the founding father of the extremely popular Linux Mint operating system, announced a few days ago the specs and price of a new MintBox mini PC, which will be powered by Linux Mint 15 (Olivia).

Dubbed MintBox 2, the tiny computer produced by CompuLab, will be based on a powerful Intel i5 processor, which will provide more than four times the performance of the current MintBox Pro PC, for roughly the same price.

Looking closer at the technical specs of MintBox 2, we can notice that it includes an internal hard disk drive with double the capacity from previous editions, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 4GB of RAM, and 5 years warranty.

If you're in Europe and you plan on buying a MintBox 2, you should know that CompuLab is working hard to enable European customers to order the mini PC via Amazon.de. The price will be $599 (€460) and it will be available for purchase later this year.
