GpuTest Now Runs On Mesa, Gallium3D Drivers
Our friends at Geeks3D have updated their GpuTest program so that its OpenGL 3.x benchmarks will work under the Mesa and Gallium3D open-source Linux graphics drivers.
GpuTest 0.5.0 was released this week as the updated cross-platform 64-bit OpenGL graphics benchmark. The improved Linux support for this release comes via allowing Mesa / Gallium3D drivers to now work with these tests, at least it's been tested on LLVMpipe, Nouveau NVC0 Fermi, and AMD Radeon R600 Gallium3D.
GpuTest 0.5.0 also incorporates new Triangle and Plot3D graphics benchmarks that are lighter than the more strenous tests like FurMark for being able to run fluidly on the open-source drivers.
Furthermore, this version will work on glibc releases going back to version 2.2.5 rather than just glibc 2.14. More details can be found at Geeks3d.com.
The GpuTest test profile has already been updated at OpenBenchmarking.org so with the Phoronix Test Suite installed it's simply a matter of typing phoronix-test-suite benchmark gputest. This updated GL benchmark will now be used in future open-source Linux graphics driver articles at Phoronix.
