Legends of Aethereus the Kickstarted RPG game has been officially release now along with many new versions over the past few months and it's looking good!

You can buy it now from greenmangaming for £19.99.

It was Kickstarted back in July of last year and raised a cool $10K over it's goal!

To anyone who has played it, what are your thoughts, is it worth it for others to get a copy? I still haven't found the time to give it a proper go.

The developers seem really nice too, they took the the linux_gaming reddit and gave out lots of free copies, they did this more than once too!

They also need help getting onto Steam if you can spare a vote. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Hi SimmyD.
No, that's a mistake with the text, but the key you receive from GMG (with the download link) works for the Linux version of LoA as well. :) Sorry about it not being mentioned though.

looking forward to this (after finishing the witcher), but I find the whole drm post on the kickstarter a bit over the top, so you get a key which you can activate offline and thats it, personally I don't see that as DRM, more as a did you buy this game verify. What I worry about more is the fact that the linux download is called LOALinuxRC4.tar.bz2

Hi there guys I have a bit of time in the game now since last night and yeah this game is not done by any stretch. There are missing animation, you can walk right in sides of mountains. I beat the 2nd boss and it would not let me move on to the next part of the quest. I bought a shield the shield was missing but could still use it. I change skin colour through out the game. What I see what happened is they were tired of making the game and fixing it so just put it out. I bet you will see updates/upgrades come out that will fix these issues. I am so tired of games coming out that are not done. Oh and Bumadar I would be worried about the RC4 this game is not done. This is another video game Kickstarter that failed to live up to what they said they would do.

that why I worried. I tested the 1st build and it had the issues you mentioned, I sort of forgot about the game and wondered if they really fixed it all.... guess not :/

Yeah it still crashes a bit. Has a few bugs still. Tried to load the first mission area..and BAM..back to the desktop.

no crashes for me and runs quite fine, but the problem is that the game doesnt want to capture the mouse all the time.
leaving the system mouse on the screen and not being able to move 360 degree.
alt+tabbing couple of times fixes it for a while but then the bug comes back again.
and this issue has been there since the very first beta for me.
otherwise seems to be fine game and can crank the graphics up to max without problems
