The fifth development version of the upcoming Totem 3.10, now known as Videos (or Movie Player in Ubuntu), multimedia player for the GNOME desktop environment is now available for download and testing, as posted on the main GNOME FTP server earlier today, July 29.

Totem 3.9.5 introduces a workaround to allow streaming of Vimeo videos, makes the thumbnailer work even when the VA-API support is enabled, fixes aspect ratio issues in dual-head setups, and fixes playback when video location is not mounted.

Moreover, the titlebar is no longer hidden in fullscreen mode, as there is a menu bar, the warnings from the rotation plugin related to unsupported locations are now avoided, and streams are accessed directly rather than through FUSE, making playback and buffering smoother.

Totem 3.9.5 also fixes excessive redraws when using rotation, making rotation and crop work together. For more details, please check the official raw changelog.

Download Totem 3.9.5 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
