Clement Lefebvre, the founding father of the extremely popular Linux Mint operating system, had the pleasure of announcing today, September 13, that the next-gen MintBox mini PC is available for purchase.

Dubbed MintBox 2, the tiny computer produced by CompuLab and powered by the 64-bit edition of the Linux Mint 15 (Olivia) operating system, a clone of the famous Ubuntu distribution, has a powerful Intel i5 processor, HDMI , eSATA, and 8 USB ports.

MintBox 2 is distributed with an internal 2.5” hard disk drive of 500 GB capacity, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and Intel HD Graphics 4000.

The price is $599 (€460) and can be ordered right now from the CompuLab website. European customers will have to wait until it will become available on Amazon.com and Amazon.de.
