AMD Catalyst 13.9 release brings support for Xorg Server 1.14

AMD has unleashed earlier today, September 18, 2013, the AMD Catalyst 13.9 video driver for Linux platforms, bringing official support for the Linux kernel 3.10 branch.

AMD Catalyst 13.9 introduces support for Xorg Server 1.14, OpenGL 4.3 support, GLX_EXT_buffer_age extension support, dynamic primary surface resizing, UVD/Vsync/OpenGL fixes, Unigine Heaven 4.0 fixes, Left4Dead 2 fixes, SLED 11 SP3 support, and Linux 3.10 kernel support.

There's still no official announcement for this release, but the driver is now available for download, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.

The AMD Catalyst 13.9 video driver offers production support for the following Linux-based operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 and 6.4, Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux 11 SP3, OpenSuSE Linux 11.4 and 12.1, and Ubuntu 12.04.2 and 13.04.
