The Re-Opened X.Org Server 1.15 Pushes Ahead

At the XDC2013 X.Org conference it was decided to postpone the X.Org Server 1.15 release until year's end to let more features land. Keith Packard has now gone ahead and merged some of the new code and issued a new development release.

The xorg-server 1.14.99.2 release happened on Friday as a step towards X.Org Server 1.15, which is now planned for an official release in December. X.Org Server 1.15 should have been here in September, but it was mostly just bug-fixes that landed and nothing too exciting. With the release pushed back there's now hope for DRI3 support, XWayland, the GLX rewrite, and other changes to land.

The X.Org Server 1.14.99.2 release doesn't yet offer up any exciting functionality but a couple dozen changes from the usual X.Org upstream developers. Some of Adam's GLX patches though have landed, a number of xephyr changes by Eric Anholt, various input changes by Peter Hutterer, etc.
