Battle Worlds: Kronos coming Nov 4 to Windows PC, Linux and Mac

Battle Worlds: Kronos, a turn-based strategy game from King Art Games, will launch on Nov. 4 DRM-free worldwide for Windows PC, Mac and Linux, the developer announced today.

Available from Steam, GoG.com and other distribution platforms, the game will feature support for several languages and versions for iOS and Android will follow in early 2014. Battle Worlds features different multiplayer factions with varying skills and strengths. It also includes single and multiplayer maps, along with asynchronous multiplayer and a map editor.

"We're giving the customers a good large game for their money," CEO of King Art Games Jan Theysen said in a statement. "We provide free cross-platform multiplayer, a league and — early next year — the free DLC 'Trains,' which contains a new campaign and introduces a whole new unit class. We think that's a pretty good deal. If enough players support us by buying the game legally instead of pirating it, we'll adopt a no-DRM policy as a company policy."

While boxed retail copies and digital downloads will be DRM-free, copies bought through platforms such as the AppStore or Steam will feature copy-protection.

The Battle Worlds project achieved its $120,000 Kickstarter goal on April 5 with 22 days remaining on its campaign. It successfully made through Valve's Steam Greenlight vetting process later that month.
