Ubuntu Planning For HTML5, SDK Improvements

Ubuntu developers can soon look forward to many improvements in the Ubuntu App development platform via its SDK.

Jono Bacon of Canonical has shared some new details after a developer sprint was held last week in Florida for the platform, SDK, and security teams along with desktop and design stakeholders. Those developers focusing upon Ubuntu's next-generation platform can find all of the details in full via Jono's blog post but some of the key takeaways include:

- Better HTML5 integration of apps.

- The full Ubuntu platform API will be available via JavaScript.

- A full emulator will be coming to the Ubuntu SDK for smart-phones, tablets, etc.

- Support for Google's Go programming language along with Qt's QML will be added to Ubuntu SDK in the next month.
