Learning More About KDE's Plasma Next Desktop
For those KDE users wishing to learn more about the forthcoming "Plasma Next" desktop work alongside KDE Frameworks 5 and Qt5, there's new information available.
KDE developer Sebastian Kügler has written a new blog post with details on Plasma Next at length. The blog post was entitled "Next means Focus on the Core." Topics covered include the device form factors, interaction, the new graphics stack, and how everything is coming together.
To some entertainment, the Plasma 2014.6 release schedule that was finalized upon ended up having the same planned release date that I had earlier written about for 17 June when I was criticized by some KDE developers for mentioning that information back in January when it was on a public mailing list...
Overall, KDE Frameworks 5 and Plasma Next appears to be making good progress and I look forward to the stable debut this summer.
