Firefox 29 was released yesterday with a completely rebranded interface, a new menu and many other changes. Read on to see what’s new in this release.

One of the most obvious changes is the new menu, which is now positioned by default in the left-hand of the toolbar and has been completely redesigned to include all the major categories, without the need for submenus:

Firefox customization has received a major overhaul too, and it comes with tips on how to change the look of it:

The look and feel of the tabs has changed as well:

And the bookmarks menu has been redesigned too:

To enable the Firefox classic menu, you can go to Menu in the left side of the toolbar, click on Customize, and then choose Menu Bar from the Show/Hide Toolbars drop-down list.

Installing Firefox 29 in Ubuntu

Firefox 29 has already been included in the Ubuntu repositories, so you can install it from the Software Center or use sudo apt-get install firefox.

If you already have Firefox installed, just update your system:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
