On the official Tropico Facebook page the developers sent word out that the Linux (and Mac) versions of Tropico 5 are still on time for release on Friday 19th September!

It's been nearly two weeks since they announced the release date for Linux, so this is a good sign that we won't see another delay for the popular series to début on Linux.

Will you be picking up a copy? We will. Check out the Steam page for Tropico 5, but be sure not buy it until release day! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Will be getting this for sure, big fan of the series. Just hope it goes on sale on release date, £35 is a bit much for a game which has only had incremental improvements since Tropico 3.

I am also hoping for a sale as the normal price is a bit of the higher side, but I will get it regardless.

I'll get it for sure. it's a quality production, I've not played any entries in this franchise since maybe the first or second iteration, and am totally ready to support'em for their efforts.

This'll be great!

I wonder if there's any chance the PC version will ever get gamepad support.

I was looking forward to this game for quite a while, so it'll definitely be a Friday-buy. El presidente shall not be denied!

This release brought a question to my mind though: T5 was originally released back in May, and we're getting the Linux version now, in September. How does this compare to other Win/Lin releases? Is there a list somewhere of games that released on Windows with a planned linux release and when that linux release finally dropped? I'm wondering if we have enough data to start getting a sense of what the typical turn-around-time is.
