A playoff, e.g. comparative user tests within groups of various types and levels of users, might have some informative value.

Absent such an organized end-user testing scheme, a statistically valid polling methodology for selecting survey participants would likely yield results more credible to Linux users who are not long-term denizens of this fine Internet list.

What's wrong with VLC? I use VLC. I don't have any problems with it at all. What do you folks think is the best?

Note that I don't think that there is anything wrong with VLC for playing audio and am fine for anybody to make any choice they want .

Lowest common denominator, anyone can cobble together a few lines of pyhton code and think they are a programmet, c,c++ etc takes real skill.
