The distro is built around KDE Software Compilation 4.14.3

The third Korora 21 screenshot tour is for the KDE edition of this amazing Fedora-based computer operating system. I forgot to mention in my previous Korora screenshot tours that I prefer using this distribution over Fedora, as it includes more useful applications and numerous other internal and UI tweaks that make a big difference.

The Korora 21 KDE Edition operating system is built around the KDE Software Compilation (SC) 4.14.3 graphical desktop environment and not the next-gen KDE Plasma as one would have expected. As Chris Smart noted in the official release announcement for Korora 21, the distribution will switch to KDE Plasma/KDE Frameworks 5 by default in the forthcoming Korora 22.

Well, the icon theme and UI changes you saw in GNOME and Cinnamon editions of Korora 21 do not apply to the KDE flavor, which apparently uses the default KDE4 layout and desktop theme, as well as the icon set. Most probably, Chris decided to keep KDE4 fans happy and not mess with the user interface.

If you like Cinnamon or GNOME, I strongly recommend taking a look at the Korora 21 GNOME Edition screenshot tour and Korora 21 Cinnamon Edition screenshot tour. In the meantime, you can download Korora 21 KDE Edition right now from Softpedia (it’s available for 64 and 32-bit PCs).
